The Chairman, Enugu state science, Technical and Vocational Schools Management Board, STVSMB, Obi Kama has described Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the most education friendly governor the state has ever produced.
Kama who disclosed this on Tuesday at the board’s end of the year party and award said Ugwuanyi’s education policies have set the state on the part of progress and competitiveness.
The board chairman noted that the once neglected technical and vocational education is now a new bride, because of its potential for wealth creation, employment and industrialization.
He said the government under the leadership of Ugwuanyi has made huge investment in technical and vocational education for assured future for Enugu children.
In a remark at the event, chairman Enugu state universal basic education board, ENSUBEB chief Ikeji Asogwa noted that the business of education is the responsibility of all stakeholders.
He disclosed that ENSUBEB would commence renovation and reconstruction work of some technical schools across the three senatorial zones.
While congratulating the recipient of STVSMB maiden award, asogwa charged the awardees on hard work, adding that this serves as a call to do more.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Chief Supervising Principal, Edwin Ejiofor who emerged as best CSP in the state commended the selection process that the best in all the categories of award adding that the award will serve as a morale booster
“the selection was fantastic none of us knew it was coming. We were just coming to celebrate with friends but before you know it, they said i should wear the cap” to whom much is given, much is also expected it is an encouragement to me. When I am encouraged as CSP, it goes down the line to all the principal in my zone will feel the gain”.
